Bultar Swan was a female, human Jedi Knight of the Old Republic who fought in the Clone Wars and died during the Jedi Purge. As a young Jedi, Bultar Swan was apprenticed to Jedi Master Micah Giiett until he was killed during the Yinchorri Uprising. Following the death of Master Giiett, Jedi Master Plo Koon accepted Bultar Swan as his Padawan and trained her to knighthood. Bultar Swan was skilled lightsaber duelist, drawing in her opponents with small movements and then finally unleashing a fast and furious strikes.

As a Jedi, Bultar Swan served the Jedi Order in the years leading up to the Clone Wars. During the Separatist crisis, Bultar Swan was dispatched to the Sepan Sector in an attempt to negotiate an end to the decades-long civil war between the worlds of Dimok and Ripoblus. It was the third mission in five years that hope to put an end to the fighting. Bultar Swan was joined by Jedi Knights Empatojayos Brand and Chellemi Chuovvick in the negotiations. Hostilities ceased the month the Bultar and the Jedi spent negotiating with the feuding worlds, but unfortunately, once the Jedi returned to Coruscant, hostilities resumed.

When the Separatist's army of battle droids was discovered on Geonosis, Bultar Swan joined two hundred other Jedi under the leadership of Jedi Master Mace Windu on a mission to Geonosis to destroy the droid army and hopefully put an end to the Separatist crisis. Unfortunately, scores of Jedi were killed on Geonosis, Count Dooku escaped, and the galaxy was plunged into war. Bultar Swan was one of the few Jedi to survive the battle and eventually served as a general of the Grand Army of the Republic as the Clone Wars spread across the galaxy.
